Claude Wei Zhang is a lighting designer and visual artist from Beijing and Evanston, IL. Working across mediums, Claude is interested in exploring how qualities of light interact with bodies and materials to construct worlds, convey narratives, and transform spaces. In their creative process, Claude engages with their spontaneous artistic impulse to capture movement and embody emotions.

Currently, Claude is a junior studying Theatre, Art Theory & Practice, and Asian American Studies at Northwestern University. They are the Technical Director for Sit & Spin Productions, Northwestern’s experimental student theater company.
